A panel discussion for interview tips for Adjuncts was held in the Gallery- Library-LLRC.  Panelist were Dr. Regina Dilgen, Associate Dean Susan Caldwell, Associate Dean Carlos Ramos, and

On January 20th PTLC hostedGot Papers?!” in NS129.
“Genealogy and Family Tales: Are the Tales Fact or Fiction?”

The guest presenter was our Reference Librarian Doug Cornwell from the Lake Worth Campus.  How did Professor Cornwell get started in Family Genealogy?

He explained how this all began. We enjoyed his stories about  how organizing research for his own family genealogy in high school and college gave him the desire to study library science.

From PTLC's Newsletter:
"He explained various research strategies to gather and analyze information.  More specifically, he addressed how vital records, photographs, names, secondary sources, and even family crests can be used to understand family history-and how they can be used to dispel family myths."

On Jan. 26th PTLC’s “Here’s the Scoop”
 was held in the Gallery-Library-LLRC.

QEP-Create a Customized Critical Thinking Quick Guide

Guest Presenter was Dave Wells, QEP Manager

From PTLC’s Newsletter:
“During this workshop, Mr. Wells showed faculty how to create a critical thinking guide that is customized to their specific subject area. Faculty brainstormed in groups to share ideas, then Mr. Wells circulated to individual faculty members as they worked on their own critical thinking guides and explored the usefulness of these guides in their own classrooms and in other areas on campus. Afterwards, faculty shared their guides and discussed broader ideas surrounding critical thinking.”

On Jan. 28, PTLC’s “Here’s the Scoop”
hosted PBSC ‘Student of Concern Team’.

Hardly a seat was left in the Gallery!

Many listened intently as the ‘Student of Concern Panel’
answered many serious questions.
