Alyse Ergood is a reference and instruction librarian who
joins us from Florida Atlantic University Libraries in Boca, where she was a
librarian for nearly 8 years. Along with
her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, she recently completed a
second Master’s degree in Social Work.
She hopes to continue furthering her education in order to best assist
the students, faculty, and community she serves.
Alyse specializes in the following fields: social sciences,
humanities, education, and nursing. She
is very knowledgeable about using social media and emerging technologies. Alyse continues to use these tools to stay
connected to the Palm Beach State College’s community and the community at
large. In order to further the work of
libraries and librarianship, she is active in committee work through regional,
state, and national associations including but not limited to The American
Library Association (ALA), The Southeast Florida Library Information Network
(SEFLIN), and the Florida Library Association (FLA).
In her spare time, Alyse enjoys going to the beach, spending
time with her husband, taking pictures, traveling (when possible), reading,
researching, walking, and spending time in the mountains and outside in nature.
