The event opens with a keynote speaker, then a breakout session, a wonderful lunch and 2 more breakout sessions. It's also an excellent day to network with others in your field.

Keeping People In Touch: Libraries Services And Missions
Maurice Coleman, Technical Trainer at Harford County (MD) Public Library
(2010 Library Journal Mover and Shaker)
"As access to information evolves, how do libraries remain relevant to their customers and communities? How can libraries serve the ever-changing needs of their population while dealing with shrinking budgets and rising expectations? Discussed will be some ways to keep relevant, how to deal with lower funding coupled with increased demands; and the public perception of library and community technology (and perception gaps). Key strategies to be discussed include how you can evolve into a 21st century knowledge and learning center and how to stay central to the communities needs without knowing what those needs will be in the future."
Palm Beach State Library, Lake Worth Campus, will particpate in this breakout session:
E-Books and E-Book Readers in Academic Library Service
This breakout session will be a panel, including our director Mr. Brian Kelley and a student/staff member Christina Plante. Also included on the panel from other libraries are V. Boulos and M. Buckley.
We will also participate in the new breakout session, Technology Petting Zoo,
bringing some of our digital eReaders to demonstrate.
