2013-2014 Common Reader Voting Process Begins!

From January to March 20th, over 55 titles were recommended to the Common Reader Committee.

 

The top five titles will be selected by committee members from all campuses.  Students, faculty and staff will be given the chance to vote for their #1 book to be read during the First Year Experience beginning this Fall Term.

Voting begins April 3rd and ends April 16th.
The winning title will be announced during National Library Week. We will post the TOP five titles here next week!

 The book, "The Last Train to Paradise"
 by Les Standiford,  was chosen March 12th for

"Read Together Palm Beach County 2012" at the
Press Conference at West Palm Beach City Hall.

March 30, 2012 Official kick-off of the campaign at the Love of Literacy Luncheon at the Kravis Center

 April 2012 Book Discussion groups all over the county, including Palm Beach State College Library.

Professor Alonso-Sheldon's College Prep class assignment, after reading the book, was to take a quote from the book Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, and make a poster. 

These posters are hanging in the 2nd floor of the LLRC.

 Last Lecture is available for check out in hard copy format

and on our digital e-readers on 3rd floor of LLRC.

One Book One College Kick Off

One Book One College Kick Off event:

January 12, 2011 (11:30am – 1:30pm)

Complimentary copies will be given to the students in classes

 that participate in the Read Together activities.

The kick-off event will be Wednesday, Jan. 12.
